We have a great deal of experience delivering as-built surveys for offshore installations (oil rigs) and vessels. Given the time-sensitive nature of the oil and gas industry, we can quickly mobilise a team and are prepared to travel wherever required.

Being involved in oil and gas surveying for many years, we have developed bespoke solutions to maintain absolute accuracy and a complication-free workflow. Even if the survey is conducted on a floating object offshore, we use a precise total station to measure control points that are later used for cloud registration.

This operation becomes extremely challenging due to the instrument’s lack of solid and set placements. With this in mind, we created and executed a unique methodology for survey and network correction in cases where a total station cannot be levelled. Our engineers and cad specialists have extensive expertise modelling and processing point clouds of offshore installations and vessels, which are frequently compact and loaded with detail.

We can convert the point cloud into simple 3D CAD models or intelligent models that are compatible with AVEVA PDMS, AutoCAD Plant, or Open Plant. As with onshore industrial sites, we can support our client at the design stage by performing clash analysis and even suggesting optimal piping routes and equipment positions. We strive to be adaptable in our approach, with all products given in a format that is compatible with the client’s existing systems.
